LOcal WrestlinG, the STW Anarchy Co.

**************

Back when I lived in Big Sandy Mush (oh how i miss the BSM & it's sunny valley)... I used to ride my bike, or get a ride on Bort's scooter to the BLue Ridge Championship Wrestling matches at the community center. It was all there was to do around there. And it was awesome.
Of course i don't really fit in with the crowd but that never made me less loved or accepted at these events.
Recently I discovered there is some local wrestling (somewhat) nearby where I am living now! But over down in Haywood County....

Was it any less? Any more? Any different? Then the wrestling I dared to watch before?

Shit if I know. Maybe all of the above.
All i do know, is i laughed and screamed the entire time - Anarchy wrestlers do alot of yelling and talking, to each other and the crowd. They used chairs, ladders, face slapping, name calling. They told children in the audience to "shut up" and there seemed to be little boundaries once the testosterone got rolling.
It is in my opinion performance art, on every level. Someone could argue with me that it's not, but I wont listen. As redneck as these things may seem to some, there is serious endurance involved, serious acting, creative thinking, and some of those jumps are WOW... I was totally entertained.

Here are the highlights of local wrestling in Clyde , NC -------- It's a FULL on beat down!!

PS--- the titty twister is of course, my favorite part!

Wrestling In Big Sandy Mush Part 3

Welcome to the Blue Ridge Championship Wrestling in Big Sandy Mush! Oh yeah, I bet you thought it was over, that these guys packed away their speedos and wrestlin' one-sies just cause the winter weather came!?! Hell NO! These guys (and a surprise gal) came back with vengeance, to acrobatically, dramatically, and fantastically fight once again for the championship belt. You know, who wouldn't wanna come wrestle in the middle of nowhere at an abandoned school--- count me in!
I arrived fashionably late as always and missed the beginning of the first round where some smaller guys from South Carolina were getting boo'd off the ring from the strangely mixed crowd. The crowd was not only the die hard kids, guys, & old men who are familiar to me now, but I swear a mini bus load of hippies & hipsters had been dropped off this time too - and they were intoxicated, which meant more DANCING, yelling, jumping, laughing, fun.
I was particularly smitten with the big wrestler from Waynesville NC, because he was wearing the most awesome 'all in one' "USA" red white and blue outfit! He also beat the poor tiny guy from South Carolina... in fact their size difference made it nearly unfair. Moving right along to the next round were some guys I am now familiar with - the Hillbilly & TNT...
Even though the crowd was wild and plenty amazing tricks were being done, I got the feeling the wrestlers themselves were sluggish due to big Thanksgiving meals and lazy holiday-ness was creeping into their souls. Their match went on and on, and ended in a 'draw' in which the announcer said "We have two winners, not two losers!" :)
Then something totally new and shocking happened! A .... girl.... came out with the current Champion.... the crowd went bananas....
She was taking no prisoners, she wasn't there to be sweet - she was there to scream, yell, distract, support her honey and strut her stuff...she was the perfect authentic wrestling ho, to flank the readily boo'd evil Champion. One old man in the crowd started yelling at her "Go Home YOu JeZebel!!!!"With Jezebel at his side, the Champion beat out the opponent with no problem...
This costume below completely got my attention, he wore an "Army" shirt on the front but the back side of his shiny spandex finished the story... it looked like maybe he wrote "KILLER" on there with freakin' white out! Now that is scary stuff. Only true pysco's write on their outfits with shit like spray paint or white out or puffy paint.
KILLER and the whole gang all jumped in the ring at once because the last match was the winner will be the last crazy guy in the ring - and you had to be thrown over the top rope by any of the opponents in order to lose the round! It's a sight to behold when all the tight pant winners and all the loose pants losers are throwing each other out the ring left and right... I basically didn't know WTF was going on till there was only two left.
When you have a Jezebel hottie by your side, you are bound to hold onto the Chamionship belt... all my favorites, all the good guys, all the tiny guys, all the funny guys got thrown over the rope. Evil takes all again!
After it ended I sat in my metal folding chair and watched the men take apart the traveling stage (layers of canvas, padding and wood). I was pretty excited because I was asked by the head guy to be the "Official Blue Ridge Championship Photographer" and was wishing I could accept such an honor. Cause how cool is that? Not sure my health would really permit, but I sure as hec will make an effort. I was also contemplating why the group of Hippies and Hipsters thought that they should be the only ones to get the free wrestling posters being signed by the wrestlers and left the rest of us in the dust! Lame! Can't they share on their commune, and let us have one too!!! ;)
HA! In the words of AC/DC "aAAAHHhhhhhh A, THUNDER!"
Bye Ya'll!!!!

Wrestling In Big Sandy Mush (Part 2)

Oh lordy, I can't believe they moved wrestling to a sunday afternoon in this culturally bible belt area...it certainly set an entirely new mood, a smaller crowd and maybe even a few new wrestling rules since only the most die hard & friends were present. But it had it's advantages too. I walked in a little fashionably late just as the first match was getting started, sat down, and this picture below is the first thang that happened!!!! Holy Shiznit- dudes were flying like they were comic book heroes wearing olympic gold medals! That's some seriously ninja style moves going on. In all the matches the usual form was bad guy VS good guy again and many of the wrestlers were the same as last time (except for the flying bad boy, he was new to me)... what was totally unusual this time though was the mood. The crowd was slightly more lazy and quiet because it was 2 o'clock on a sunday afterall ( Jesus says to yell a little less on this day), and this made the wrestlers act like it was a private show where they could ham it up twice as fancy and laugh their asses off at their own acrobatics!
There seems to always be a moment where the drama peeks so high wrestlers step in for their partners and threaten the other team with large objects. In the ECW (Extreme Championship Wrestling) they use big terrible stuff like pipes, toilets, sinks, and chairs - oh but no, not here in Big Sandy Mush though, sunday wrestling brought on an ECW style threat with a freaking BANJO!!! ha! The bad guys totally feared the banjo too (who wouldn't), the hottie wrestler pretended to rock out on it (even though from where i sat it looked like it had no strings) - possibly they even feared his grace with the banjo cause he is probably the wrestler with the most martial art/gymnast style strategy. Now there were a few moments where I was appalled into laughter - one was when a kid started chanting "dough boy" to the wrestler with a belly, somehow getting the whole crowd in on it!!! OMG! And threatened said wrestler with his folding chair, till his family calmed him down. Then when a wrestler would pout, act like a baby and yell shit like "he pulled my hair, did you see that, he pulled my hair!"... the wrestler proceeded to point out some farmish looking young adults and said "you saw it, didn't he pull my hair?", to which the boys shook their head "NO", and he yelled "Don't Listen to those HIPPIES!" ... ha, the only hippies in the place got called out (assuming I'm not a hippie).
Then this awesome thing happened...
I bet you are wondering what is going on in that picture above, cause no one is being pulverized?! That is cause a tag team match was about to start, and low and behold they was playing ROCK, PAPER, SCISSORS to decide who would go first ! oh yeah baby. They DID!The good guys actually WON! And at this time I want to point something else totally phenomenal about this wrestling match, and that was for half the rounds there was a FEMALE referee!!!
Pictured here below is me with one of my FAVORITE wrestlers from the Hillbilly Team! Thumbs up is the standard pose for a winner, I suspect cause you can flex muscles while giving it ;)
Next Wrestling Match In Big Sandy Mush on AUGUST 15th 2009!
