Ya'll know how I love things in nature that look like something else... sometimes it looks like multiple other things (bio-mimicry, baby!) Take a lookie at this object in my hand above and try to guess what it is...I can tell you these hints:1. When I first saw it I thought it was not what it turned out to be.
2. Nature made it.
Tell me what you think it looks like and tomorrow I will tell ya what it is.

It looks like a rock or a shell? Is it a bug of some sort?
hmmm... I was wondering if it might be exotic looking poo? or perhaps a piece of charcoal with frills of ash on it?

When I found this mystery bit o'nature I thought it was a seashell, then i thought it was some really neat sedimentary rock---> but once i touched it, it left a smudge on my hand and i realized it was just a piece of charcoal!
