I Love Big Rains and Big Winds

It's really that simple. I feel soothed by a big storm, the bigger the more soothing. It might be in my DNA since I grew up in New Orleans... on the hurricane coast. This spring is coming early, maybe cause the ground hog said so, maybe cause we collectively begged for it with all our might, or maybe for the real reason... chance & luck & natures choice.
Either way, i enjoy the fog after the pour and the way the creeks rise with power and deafening noise.
I think one reason nature is never boring is because you can never ever see every bit of it, and it keeps changing with the weather, the temperature, the seasons, the sun, the clouds... it's like a painting that will never be complete. Or much like the library... you know you will never read all the books there are, you'd have to live many lifetimes to see it all.... even if you settled to only read all the good books.
The creek can be a trickle, it can be frozen into a so many shapes, spikes, bubbles, and then with a rain it can become a waterfall so powerful it would knock you out. I really like them all.

From Green To Yellow

It happened suddenly... but secretly and slowly. The trees gave hints here and there that they were going to change colors, that the hope of summer was long gone and the preperations for winter was all we should be doing. Then last evening I looked up into the trees as I tucked my animals in for the night... and everything had turned yellow.

Signs Of Spring

Spring makes me feel like I am going to bust at the seams! Here's some pics of spring's awakening...

1. Buds and leaves are slowly bubbling out of branches and breaking free.

2. Lillies and Daffodils are poking out the ground and ready to dance in the wind.

3. Little wildflowers are blooming close to the ground.

4. I am wearing my favorite red pumps to tromp around the yard in.

Change Of Season & President

Change is the one thing you can always depend on. It's the #1 thing you can trust most to always happen in nature, in life, in your body and your mind. Apparently it even happens in American politics, which is the kind of thing I have hardly seen in my lifetime and am proud to be here to witness it finally. Yay for the change of seasons and Yay for a new president!

These changing leaf pics were taken yesterday in the wooded area near my house - the 2 year long drought has effected some of the color, but the resilience of the trees shines through with beauty.
