Pollution Is A 'Sin': The Pope & Green Bible

Back in March 2008 Pope Benedict XVI decided there were a few new 'sins' that needed to be urgently addressed due to modern times a changin'. One big shocker was that he declared pollution a sin! The reason I am shocked is because I went to Catholic school for 12 years, at which time I was completely pro active about saving the planet and got nothing but riducule and teasing, including from local priests, teachers, and students (aka-the community). I recently read various debates about whether declaring pollution a sin would force any ripple in the Christain world, which is notoriously thought of as environmently unfriendly. This led me to imagine children teasing each other on the playground -> if one kid didn't put the recycle in the right bin the other kids could tell them they were going to hell.
I kid not though- the ripple has begun...I just got word of the new GREEN BIBLE from earth first. This bible sets out to show where the good word tells us exactly how to care for the earth by being an environmental steward and not a destroyer. It contests the whole attitude that the Christian God handed us the earth to use up as we please, and points out passages from the bible that say God directly asked Adam to care for his garden of Eden - not rape it of every resource for your pleasure and shrug it off till the rapture comes. Amen!

This fall The Green Bible will be published, complete with cotton/linen cover, partly recycled paper, soy-based ink, and passages about caring for the earth highlighted in green. The $29.95 edition of the Good Book also includes essays and a study guide about the spiritual mandate to protect the environment. Hoping to sell 25,000 to 30,000 copies a year, he plans to market The Green Bible to eco-aware churches and influential thinkers. Essay contributor Calvin B. DeWitt, a University of Wisconsin environmental professor and an evangelical Christian, says the Bible is “a kind of ecological handbook for right living on Earth.”

25 Hottest Girls In Green

My new favorite eco news group Earth First has come up with their very own 25 Hottest Girls In Green list, which I was actually quite impressed with since it mostly focused on the green grassroots community across the US and the beautiful women who really drive it. Some people were annoyed that all you had to be was a model or blogger to make the list, while others were annoyed that some of the ladies were not "hot" enough. Dang people. What I felt kinda sucked was they included a few celebs, and they totally forgot to include me! Never-the-less go check out who's who in global cooling hotness!

The Asshole Idea Of "Carbon Belch Day"

Now here's a little bit o' news I found over at my new favorite green news blog Earth First. Appropriately placed in their "haters" section, there are some fellows over at grassfire.org who think it is super fun to rape the planet of natural resources and ignore the need of millions of poor. They have invented Carbon Belch Day so that all the insane ignorant jerks of the world who are enjoying their posh middle to upper class lifestyles (because poor can't participate in most carbon belching suggestions) can push the environmental envelope as far as it can go by using AS MUCH energy as they possibly can. How? Well, with the Carbon Belch Calculator you can find out just how much damage you would enjoy doing..."guilt free" of course - by "doing a partial load of laundry, including meat in two meals a day (bonus for having steak for dinner), take a plane trip, host a party, have a BBQ, and drink a beer". And when your brainwashed short attention span tires of those carbon belching highs you can "light a campfire, watch television, smoke 4 cigars, go boating, and then take an 8 minute shower".

Now as with all asshole groups who are actually trying to destroy something rather then make it better here is a perfect hypocritical statement from their site, where they degrade carbon offsets because they "cost money" and then ask for your $$ donation for their grassfire.org site to help them with their right wing anti-environmental agenda. LOL!

Charisma and humor can only last so long when you have a smug and uncompassionate agenda - just like Hitler knew how to do, yep, Grassfire is using the same style of power trippin' play on words propaganda as the king jerk of history.

Now before you read their highly hummer lovin' earth invisible ideals, brace yourself - because you too could become a hater... a hater of the grassfire asshole mentality.
