Freaking beautiful! I haven't seen one like this in many many years... maybe since i lived in Baton Rouge, LA. It's like a white cheetah, or leopard! Anyone want to ID this moth, and what it's caterpillar looks like too?? I Looooooove eet! XoxoxoOX
My husband found the same moth in Aberdeen, MD today....it is gorgeous. We were looking to find out what exactly it is & where it is from. Martha & Olivia
I've found two recently in nc, they are beautiful. It does look like it is a giant leopard moth. Just Google and browse through images; some look different then others
Just found one crawling across the concrete mid day (I thought his wings were damaged because they had no color or powder on the ends of it's wings) so I put a stick down and let him crawl on it and put him on a shady peach tree out back where he wouldn't bake in the N.C. August sun. He's been there for 3 days.
Looks like a Giant Leopard Moth. You are so lucky to see this stuff, Leslie!
