DIY: Camo Shorts made into Camo SKIRT

I had found this pair of boys camo shorts at the thrift store sometimes last summer... it took until now for the strong detergent smells to actually be rain blasted out of them (on my clothes line!) ....
I was hoping to make camo short-shorts out of them, but i am actually not that skilled in sewing and they just didn't fit quite right to transform them easily (too much space in the crotch for boy junk!)
So here is a quick sewing trick you can use with boys shorts, your own shorts, old pants, thrifts jeans, etc....
It really is simple as 1,2,3 !!!
.....................................................
STEP 1 ::
Cut off the legs of the shorts or pants to the length you want your skirt. (see pic above) You can make a knee length or tiny mini!
STEP 2 ::
Cut along the crotch seam. Then along the seams in the front a back...
STEP 3 ::
Fold the cut pieces over on top one another to create skirt shape (like inthe pic below, left folded over right). Sew along the new lines they makes, and cut off any excess from the bottom.
FINISHED!!!!!!!!!
Some majorly militia redneck shit going on here!..... i can't decide whether i would like to make my skirt shorter or not? Or maybe take in the sides?
Either way... hardcore!

  2. Clothes will not put food in your mouth. It's nice, but you need to step up and be an inspiration for others. Maybe not. It is your life and your business. I maybe wrong, but I expected you to help others live off the grid as much as possible. And learn others. Just using your early posts at inspiration.

    Humans have been clothing themselves for quite a many thousands of years. And making your own clothes saves alot of money $$$, which is another way of putting food on your table.

    And this blog started out as a blog mostly about organic clothing , and eco products - it evolved into many aspects of living sustainably.
    There has always been tons of simple DIY projects pertaining to clothing on here.....
    cruise & embrace them :::

    I am not an all ecompassing off grid guide -- many of the basics of being off grid, that i have done here have been discussed already - and as i do new projects, those will also be discussed.
    But ya know, it's cold and snowing again...
    so you are right! I get to choose to do whatever i want to do with my life! I choose to keep happy with creative projects, when the weather requires me to hunker down or when i want to relax.
    Life is never all about survival, its also about enjoyment. If you think it is only survival, go read history back all the way to cavemen.
    !! If you cant enjoy, you won't survive. !!
